Do I need permission to redo a bathroom in the centre of Honfleur?
Not for purely interior work, as a rule. If the project changes the outside appearance (vent outlet on the façade, flue through the roof), planning permission is needed, with the opinion of the Architecte des Bâtiments de France near listed monuments. A building that is itself listed follows stricter rules.
Can a walk-in shower be installed in an old house?
Often, yes. It all depends on the height available for the drain and the type of floor: we check this during the visit. An ultra-flat tray or a pump can make it work.
Should lead pipes be replaced?
It is strongly recommended, as lead can pass into tap water. Replacement with copper or multilayer pipe is ideally planned during a bathroom or kitchen renovation.
